Merritt Pavilion Park is a beautiful public park in Midland, Texas. It features a variety of amenities, including a swimming pool, playground, and basketball courts. The park is also home to the Midland Symphony Orchestra and the Midland Ballet. The pavilion is an excellent place to spend a summer day.

Midland, Texas is well-known for its oil fields and its associations with serial killers like Ted Bundy and the Hillside Stranglers. But the town's dark history goes much further back than that. A series of murders took place in Midland that has come to be known as the Trail of Horrors. The victims were all Midlanders, women who had recently moved to the town or were alone in it at night. The crimes were gruesome their throats were slashed with such force that their heads were almost cut off. Scores of women were murdered in this way, and the case remains unsolved to this day.
